Amanda Winnicki

Amanda Winnicki is a fiber artist based in Daggett, MI specializing in exploring and demonstrating lace techniques amidst a flurry of changes to the craft spurned by immigration, removal of Indigent tribal populations, and industrial/commercial lace making technology. She was taught lace in 1980 from a woman who had learned in Brussels, and has participate in lace workshops and groups sponsored by Great Lakes Lace Group, Ontario Lacemakers, and International Lace Camp. She’s demonstrating lace at many historical museums including IXL, Fishing Museum, Chippewa Historical Society, Sault Ste. Marie Canada Historical Museum, Ontario’s Traditional Fiber Fair, county fairs, libraries, and various festivals and lace specific events. She is currently the “coach” for her local lace group at the Menominee County Library, and has taught beginning lace workshops for Rudyard community schools and the Traverse Area District Library.
