Ben Bohnsack

Ben Bohnsack is a woodblock print artist based in Ann Arbor, MI

After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. Since that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions.

Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Huron Valley Council for the Arts, the Guild of Artists and Artisans, Mid America Print Council and the Hive at Macon Creek. He is an Instructor for the Michigan Folk School and particularly enjoys subjects provided by landscapes and subjects wherever he is. National and world travel and art residencies have broadened his subjects, including drawings as well as woodcuts. The images in this gallery are the result of those life experiences.
