Jon Marc Himes

Jon Marc Himes is an artist based in Negaunee, MI who makes woodturned bowls, platters, vases, functional items including pepper grinders and salad bowls, and other items on the wood lathe. He was introduced to woodturning by his father before he passed away in 1999. He inherited his father’s lathe, some tools, and some wood, and though he’s taken a few classes at craft and folk schools, he’s been largely self-taught.

Marc is one of the founding members of the Superiorland Woodturners, a local chapter of the national American Association of Woodturners, and a member of Zero Degrees Gallery in Marquette.
